What is Discipleship?
God has called His church to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19-20). We are called to equip brothers and sisters who will equip others for the Lord Jesus Christ (2 Timothy 2:2). Our vision as a local congregation is to be an instrument in the saving, equipping, and sending process of fully functioning members both locally and to the ends of the earth (Ephesians 4:11-16 & Acts 1:8).
This process is a one to one or one to two or three relationship. The purpose of these groups is to equip followers who will then equip others for sake of Jesus Christ (2 Timothy 2:2). We communicate this purpose throughout the equipping process with the people we are equipping. It is not a long-term Bible study. It is meant to equip people who will equip people who will equip people.
We encourage you to pray for the Lord’s leadership in approaching someone about leading them through the discipleship process or for someone to lead you through the process. We can rest in His perfect will that He has prepared someone for you to be equipped by and someone to be equipped by you.
May the Lord use us all in the equipping process for His glory.

As we seek to equip followers of Jesus Christ in this multiplication process, we wanted to provide some resources to assist you. The following are tools which can assist you in this process. It is important to note that the ultimate resource is the Bible. It is always the primary tool in the equipping process. It is the sword of the Spirit (Ephesians 6:17). It is living and active (Hebrews 4:12). It is profitable for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training for righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16). It is our authority. These resources are valuable tools that we recommend for your use; however, they are to be secondary in nature to the Bible.
Discipleship Essentials: A Guide to Building Your Life in Christ
by Greg Ogden
We grow in Christ as we seek him together. Jesus' own pattern of disciple-making was to be intimately involved with others and allow life to rub against life. We most closely follow Jesus' example with the twelve disciples by gathering in twos or threes to study the Bible and encourage one another. This workbook is designed as a tool to help you do just that.
Each week includes these elements:
- a Core Truth in a question-answer format
- a Memory Verse and accompanying study
- an Inductive Bible Study guide
- a Selected Reading of the week's theme
- questions to draw key principles out of the reading

Replicate Ministries exists to equip local churches to make disciples who make disciple-makers. We do this through sound Biblical methods for training and replicating disciples. These methods have proven to be effective when implemented in the local church. In the last decade, these intentional disciple-making strategies have shown to develop mature followers in our context. It is the team’s desire to share our passion for replicating disciples with other church leaders.
Multiply: Disciples Making Disciples
Multiply exists to serve local churches by encouraging and equipping disciples who make disciples in all nations. We do this by providing biblical resources and hosting gatherings that prepare followers of Christ to go, baptize people, and teach them to obey everything Jesus commanded – including the call to make disciples.

And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
