Letter from the Pastoral Team

Hello Church Family,

We are continuing to move forward despite these challenging times.

This Sunday, August 9, is College Sunday. We look forward to hearing from our College Pastor, Grant Norris, and we look forward to receiving a good number of college students and their families for worship. Due to the anticipated increase in numbers this week, we will have two services, 8:30 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. Grant will preach both services, but our college emphasis will be in the 10:15 service.

We are very pleased to inform you that Jessica Dates, our Mother's Day Out Director, will also be assuming responsibility for our nursery/preschool area on Sunday mornings. She will be present as well as help organize the parent/adult volunteers to assist with childcare each week.

Parents of babies through elementary school age children, please read the following:

  • In an effort to protect the safety of everyone, we are putting forth the following guidelines:

  • Do not come into the building if you have a fever of 100 degrees or higher.

  • Do not come into the building if you have any respiratory infections, cough, shortness of breath, vomiting, or diarrhea within the last 24 hours.

  • Do not come into the building if you have had any contact with someone with a confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19, under investigation for COVID-19, or experiencing a respiratory illness.

  • Do not come into the building if you have traveled on a cruise or internationally in the past 14 days.

  • Upon arrival, please take your child to the restroom before checking in.

  • Upon arrival, only one parent/guardian will be allowed for drop-off and pick-up (no siblings).

  • A limited number of people will be allowed into the children's area at one time.

  • Please pick up your child immediately after the service to assist those who need to clean for the next day.

  • Children in 2nd Grade and up are suggested to wear masks, in accordance with school guidelines.

  • Bring your own baby bottles or sippy cups with written instructions.

  • Staff and children will be required to wash their hands upon arrival and do so throughout.

  • Adult workers will wear masks. Teachers may remove while teaching while maintaining proper distance.

  • Gloves are to be used when diapering and hands washed afterwards. Changing tables will be cleaned and sanitized after each use.

Also, for that Sunday, August 16, we will be back to our normal schedule of 9:00 a.m. Sunday School and 10:15 a.m. worship. In addition to having every other pew blocked off, we will also have the two front sections of pews marked off for senior adults and those who feel they are in the most vulnerable category. These sections are also encouraged to enter and exit through the corresponding doors.

We will be evaluating based on the number of attendees the need to adjust our Sunday morning plans. Also, we initially thought we would resume Wednesday night activities beginning August 19, but the COVID-19 crisis has not subsided as much as we had hoped by this point, so we are continuing to suspend those until further notice.

All other protocols are still in place...

  • Masks are required for both Sunday School and worship (exceptions for those teaching, leading in worship, and those with medical issues that wearing a mask is ill-advised).

  • The campus is being sanitized and disinfected each week. The Sanctuary will be sanitized between the two services on College Sunday.

  • If you are sick or have symptoms, please do not come.

  • Please respect the six-foot social distancing protocol between households and avoid shaking hands and bodily contact.

  • Wash your hands before and after Bible study and worship services. Hand sanitizer stations will be available throughout the campus.

  • Please bring your own mask. But a few will be available at certain areas for Sunday School classes and in the foyer of the Sanctuary before entering for worship for those who forget to bring their own.

Thank you to everyone for your understanding and patience! And let us not let these obstacles keep us from being the church, from gathering safely in order to encourage one another in the Lord and glorifying His name together!

God bless! Soli Deo Gloria!
