WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF HAVING A CHURCH COUNCIL?

To provide oversight of church committees, create a direct line of reporting for committees, and empower committees to assist with the news of the church.

WHO CAN BE ON THE CHURCH COUNCIL?

A man or woman of at least 25 years of age and an active member of First Baptist Church Troy for at least five years can be on the church council. In the month of June, the church family is asked to nominate men/women that have proven to be servant leaders. Nominees must commit to a three-year term of serving.

PROCESS

  1. In June, the church family will be given 14 days to nominate seven candidates.

  2. Submit the nomination form to the church office or the offering plate.

  3. Election will be held by ballot on Sunday, August 25, 2019 (or beginning Monday, August 12, 2019 by absentee ballot in the office).
